Cooperation agreement

Work Program for Scientific and Technological Cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Italian Republic and the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport of the Republic of Slovenia

Based on the Agreement between the Government of the Italian Republic and the Government of the Republic of Slovenia on Scientific and Technological Co-operation, signed in Ljubljana on February 4, 1998, on the occasion of the Coordination Committee of Ministers of Italy and Slovenia, the Ambassador of Italy in Ljubljana, Paolo Trichilo, and the Slovenian State Secretary for Education, Science and Sport, Toma┼ż Boh, signed a work program of scientific-technological collaboration for the period 2017-2022. STC Work Program aims to promote further development of Italian-Slovenian scientific and technological cooperation, an essential part of bilateral relations between countries.

The Parties shall promote research exchange in the scientific fields, which both consider important in order to achieve sustainable growth. The research fields will be selected by mutual consent of both Parties.

Each Part shall encourage the participation of the representatives of their countries in round tables, seminars and conferences on issues of scientific and technological cooperation, organized by the other Party's scientific research institutions and other relevant bodies.

The Parties shall encourage direct contacts between scientific institutions and higher education institution regarding scientific and technological cooperation, as well as the realization of joint scientific and technological programs and projects, and encourage the exchange of scientists, technical experts and PhD students.

To coordinate this STC Work Program, the Parties shall establish an Italian–Slovenian Joint Commission on Scientific and Technological Cooperation.

The selection of projects in the framework of this STC Work Program shall be done on a competitive basis. Calls for proposals for funding projects will be announced at the same time in the Italian Republic and in the Republic of Slovenia.




Call for Joint Projects of Scientific-Technological Research between Italy and Slovenia - January 2018

The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has published a call for proposals to collect joint scientific and technological research projects within the framework of the scientific and technological cooperation program between Italy and Slovenia, for the period 2018-2020. Mobility costs will be financed for researchers involved in projects focusing on ICT, blue growth, physics and astrophysics, technologies applied to agriculture, forestry and food security, cultural heritage. The project proposals must be submitted by February 15, 2018.
