Starting from 7 September 2026, appointments for the issuance of passports can be booked through Prenot@mi<\/a>.<\/p>\n If you are experiencing troubles registering to the Portal or booking an appointment, please consult this guide<\/a>.<\/p>\n Appointments for passport services on the Prenot@mi Portal are automatically made available for a two-week window.<\/p>\n Who can request a passport<\/b><\/p>\n The Embassy of Italy in Ljubljana issues passports to Italian citizens who are legally residing within its consular jurisdiction and are registered in the A.I.R.E. (Registry of Italians Residing Abroad).<\/p>\n Please note that a passport can only be issued if the information in the applicant\u2019s personal records matches the information provided by the applicant at the time of booking. It is therefore recommended that, before applying for the document, you update your personal records (AIRE registration, changes in marital status, changes of address, etc.) through the FAST IT<\/a> portal.<\/p>\n In special cases, a passport may also be issued to non-residents, but prior express authorization from the Police Headquarters (Questura) or Consulate with jurisdiction over the applicant\u2019s place of residence will be required. This, therefore, may result in longer processing times.<\/p>\n Cost of an Ordinary Passport <\/strong><\/p>\n Starting from 1 December 2025, the cost of the booklet will be \u20ac 42.70, plus an administrative fee of \u20ac 73.50.<\/p>\n Information on how to pay the consular fee will be sent via email at the time of booking.<\/p>\n Required Documentation<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Attention: Minors under 14 years of age<\/strong><\/p>\n Minors under the age of 14 traveling abroad unaccompanied by one of their parents or legal guardians must carry an accompanying statement <\/strong>stating the name of the person, entity, or transport company to which the minor is entrusted. This must be issued by the person authorised to give consent or authorisation pursuant to Article 3, letter a) of Law no. 1185 of 21 November 1967, and validated by the Police Headquarters or the Consular Authority (for residents in the district).<\/p>\n Regarding minors under 14 traveling abroad with their parents, it is recommended to carry suitable documentation to prove parental authority (e.g., birth certificate indicating father and mother, appointment as guardian, certificate of enrollment in the consular records showing the family composition, etc.).<\/p>\n The ID card or passport released to children under 14 may, upon request, include the names of the parents or the legal guardian.
