(Registry of Italians Residing Abroad) database of the Ministry of the Interior. For the issuance of the CIE, it is also necessary to have a validated tax ID code. In its absence, the tax ID code will be assigned or validated by the Revenue Agency through the Consular Office prior to the issuance of the CIE.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Validity Period <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The validity of the identity card varies according to the age of the holder:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3 years for minors under 3 years of age;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>5 years for minors between 3 and 18 years of age;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>10 years for adults.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><strong>Application Procedure <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The request for the electronic identity card must be submitted by completing the following forms to be sent via email to consolare.lubiana@esteri.it:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/amblubiana.esteri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/RICHIESTA-DI-EMISSIONE-DI-CARTA-DIDENTITA-per-maggiorenni-aggiornato-3.pdf\">Application form for the issuance of the identity card<\/a>;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In the event that the applicant has children under the age of 18 (regardless of the applicant&#8217;s marital status), a self-declaration stating the absence of any reasons precluding the issuance of the new document: <a href=\"https:\/\/amblubiana.esteri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Dichiarazione_assenza_ostative_CIE.pdf\">Declaration_of_no_reasons_precluding_CIE_issuance<\/a>;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/amblubiana.esteri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/RICHIESTA-DI-EMISSIONE-DI-CARTA-DIDENTITA-A-FIGLI-MINORI.pdf\">Application form for the issuance of the Identity Card to minor children<\/a>;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Consent form from both parents (<a href=\"https:\/\/amblubiana.esteri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/form1_-_atto_di_assenso_in_favore_dei_figli_minori_1.pdf\">form1_-_atto_di_assenso_in_favore_dei_figli_minori_1<\/a>) in the event that the applicant is a minor under 18;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Consent form from both parents; if a parent is not a European Union citizen, their signature on the consent form must be authenticated either at the Embassy at the time of the appointment, or at the Slovenian Municipality of residence, or before a Slovenian notary. To verify the correctness of the submitted consent form, the minor must already be registered in the registry office, or the original birth certificate on an international model showing the minor&#8217;s mother and father must be presented, together with the original marriage certificate extract or, if the parents are not married, the original acknowledgment of paternity record.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>At least 15 days will pass from the time of the request to the date set for the appointment. This time is necessary to allow the consular office to check the personal data, resolve any discrepancies, and verify that there are no reasons precluding the issuance of the document.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In addition to A.I.R.E. registration, it is essential for Italian citizens born abroad that their birth certificate has already been transcribed in the Civil Status registers of the reference Municipality, as the details of the transcription must be included on the CIE.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><strong>Appointment and Documentation to be Presented <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>At the appointment, scheduled by the Consular Office via email, the citizen must present the following documents:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The original form that was previously sent by email;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 passport-size photo (full-face, in colour, <strong>white background<\/strong>, minimum dimensions 3.5\u00d74 cm);<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identification document pursuant to D.P.R. 445\/2000. If not in possession of one, the applicant must come accompanied by two witnesses; if the applicant is no longer in possession of the previous document due to theft or loss, it is necessary to present the theft or loss declaration form, together with the report made to the Slovenian authorities;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Self-declaration stating the absence of any reasons precluding the issuance of the new document;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Consent form from both parents in the event that the applicant is a minor under 18:the original that was previously sent by email.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>At the time of the appointment, the consular officer will collect the photo and, except for minors under 12, fingerprints and the signature, which will be securely recorded within the microchip in the CIE and not stored anywhere else.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><strong>Cost <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The cost of the document is:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u20ac 21.95 in total, for first issuance or renewal;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u20ac 27.11 in total in case of a duplicate due to theft or loss.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Payment must be made on the day of the appointment or according to the methods agreed upon via email.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li><strong>Delivery of the Identity Card <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The CIE is issued by the Ministry of the Interior and produced by the State Printing Works and Mint, which sends it by registered mail to the residence (or correspondence) address declared by the applicant. Regular elivery time is 15 days from the appointment (the citizen can track the registered mail independently online using the tracking code).
