Ambassador Trichilo visited Capodistria

Just two days after the presentation of his Credentials to the President of the Republic of Slovenia, the Ambassador of Italy to Slovenia, Paolo Trichilo, visited Capodistria.

A long series of meetings started on 21 January 2016 at 11. in the Hall of the Municipal Council at the Palazzo Pretorio, with a welcome ceremony hosted by the Consulate General of Italy in Koper, in cooperation with the Municipality of Koper. Accompanied by the Consul General Iva Palmieri, H.E. Ambassador Trichilo was officially welcomed by the Deputy Mayor of Koper, Alberto Scheriani. The event was attended by all Deputy Mayors of the Littoral bilingual Municipalities, by the President of the Autonomous Community of Italian Nationality and by the Italian Communities, by the directorate of the People’s University of Trieste and the Italian Union, by the Heads of the Italian Schools in coastal regions and by representatives of civil society and media.

The Ambassador visited the elementary school Pier Paolo Vergerio il Vecchio and the Gymnasium Gian Rinaldo Carli. In the afternoon, it was held in the palace Manzioli in Isola the meeting with representatives of the autonomous communities of Italian nationality and of the local Italian Community, with the presence of the Mayor and of the Deputy Mayors of Isola, Mr. Kolenc, Mr. Ziza and Mr. Peric.

On Friday  morning, the Ambassador visited the Regional Museum in Koper. Later on, he attended the opening of UnionPay International payment system in Slovenia, together with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, Ye Hao.
