Emergency Travel Documents
This is issued in emergency situations (theft, loss, etc.) to all Italian citizens travelling through Slovenia who do not have a valid travel document, solely for the purpose of returning to Italy (or another country of legal residence, verified by AIRE registration) and not for continuing their journey to another destination.
In order for the document to be issued, the following documentation needs to be submitted:
- theft or loss report of the travel document, submitted to the Consular Office;
- two passport-size photos, in colour;
- travel ticket;
Reporting of the theft or loss of the document to the Slovenian police authorities is strongly encouraged, in order to facilitate transit through Slovenia.
It should be borne in mind that on pre-holidays and holidays this form of assistance may be precluded due to the closure of the Offices and postponed – except in situations of proven emergency – to the first working day.
