Found Documents
Identity/travel documents found in Slovenia or seized by the police or DARS agents to ensure the payment of fines are forwarded by the Slovenian authorities to the competent consular offices. Therefore, anyone who has been the victim of theft or seizure or has lost their identity card in Slovenia is invited to contact, depending on the district of loss/theft/seizure, the consular office of the Italian Embassy in Ljubljana or the Consulate General of Italy in Koper at the following addresses:

The holder of the above-mentioned documents may collect them:
- in person at the Italian Embassy in Ljubljana – Snežniška ulica 8 – or the Consulate General of Italy in Koper – Belveder 2;
- by delegating someone to collect them and informing the Embassy or Consulate General;
- by ordinary post;
- by international courier service, organised and paid for by the recipient (collection from the Italian Embassy in Ljubljana).
Unclaimed documents will be destroyed one year after their return to the Consular office by Slovenian authorities, without further notice.
