Declarations of value
Foreigners and Italians residing abroad may enroll in Italian educational institutions (high schools, universities, etc.) or apply for the recognition of their foreign qualifications. The application must include the required documentation, which will be validated by the competent Italian authorities following an assessment of such qualifications.
PROCEDURE FOR THE ISSUANCE OF DECLARATIONS OF VALUE ON QUALIFICATIONS OBTAINED IN SLOVENIA:
To apply for the recognition of Slovenian qualifications (for institutions and universities located in the consular district of this Chancellery), please, follow the procedure below:
- Download the form and fill in your details;
- attach a copy of a valid identity document;
- book an appointment with the Consular Office;
- present originals or certified copies of school documents; provide an accurate Italian translation. Translations (from Slovenian into Italian) do not need to be sworn but must be precise, otherwise they will not be validated by the Consulate. The list of sworn translators can be found under the “Translation and legalisation of documents” Please verify the respective costs directly with the translator.
- have the translations legalised by the Slovenian authorities and/or the Italian Consular Office.

All documentation submitted will be returned once the Declaration of value is issued.
Please ensure that full documentation covering all years of schooling is provided.
Documentation may be sent by post and in advance by e-mail. An appointment must be scheduled by e-mail or telephone to collect the documents. Consular fees may apply for the requested services.
If you are not a resident of Slovenia, you may delegate another trusted person to handle the paperwork.
Please note that urgent declarations are not issued and translations are not provided.
